Dental Implants

Permanent, durable replacement of teeth

At Elite Smile Dental, we understand that getting dental implants is a big decision. We highly recommend a consultation for any patients who are considering dental implants to replace damaged or missing teeth. While dental implants have a higher upfront cost over a longer period they become the smarter financial decision. Dental implants, when cared for properly, have a success rate of 98% and the potential to last a lifetime.

Dental implants act as replacements for your tooth’s root. These “roots” are made from a metal rod and they will serve as the foundation for the replacement tooth. Getting dental implants requires numerous visits over the course of several months. Your first appointment will allow us to take x-rays and molds to determine the implants location. On your procedure day we will numb your mouth and place the new “root” into the jaw bone. Several weeks later you will then return to the office for the replacement teeth to be installed. Your replacement teeth will be made to match the natural color of your existing teeth making it nearly impossible to notice which teeth have implants.  On average, complete healing can take six months.

Below are some of the advantage to getting dental implants:

  • Convenience. Dental implants allow you to simply enjoy having teeth. You don’t have to struggle with messy adhesives or worry they may come loose throughout the day. You also don’t have to remove them nightly for cleaning.
  • Durability.  With the proper oral care, implants can last a lifetime.  They are made from very strong materials and are very unlikely to fracture.
  • Ease of Eating. Dental implants will function like regular teeth and you will be able to enjoy your favorite foods without worrying about pain or dentures coming loose.
  • Improved comfort. With dental implants you no longer must worry about the discomfort associated with removable dentures.
